Anniversary Session at Arches National Park | Cassidy & Max

Anniversary Session at Arches National Park | Cassidy & Max

I met up with Cassidy and Max in Arches National Park when we were both in Moab, Utah. The two of them made the drive from their home in Salt Lake City for a sunset anniversary session in the park and it was such a fun evening exploring together.

While it’s very common to photograph newly engaged couples, some of my favorite sessions are of couples that want to celebrate their wedding anniversaries. As a photographer that’s been married for nearly 8 years, there is nothing quite like photographing the connection between a couple that’s celebrating the life they’ve made together. Anniversary sessions are the perfect excuse to get dressed up and plan your ideal date. They provide a space to laugh and connect with one another. And photos that help you remember the beauty of your love in this season. It’s the perfect way to capture how your love has grown and changed since the day you said “I do.”

As we explored, I had a blast running around the picturesque sandstone arches + getting to capture this fun and easy-going couple. They had the best and most hilarious stories about the highs and lows that marriage inevitably brings, which led to photos filled with genuine laughter and real affection.

Our whole time together was so much fun and felt like such a special way to celebrate how far they’d come. Plus, I love getting the chance to photograph adventure driven couples, and Cassidy and Max were just that! The session ended perfectly as they stood watching the most breathtaking sunset. While Arches National Park is a popular place to visit we were lucky to have a quiet evening without many people. This is a perk of having an engagement or anniversary session on a weeknight in the off-season.
